GLAESERgrow Nonwoven Crop Cover – Quality Fleece for Fruit and Vegetable Cultivation 

Superb Quality – Tailored & Refined Directly in Southern Germany. The GLAESERgrow garden fleece is processed directly at our production facility in Bernstadt. The horticultural fleece, starting at a width of 6.70 m, has edge reinforcements of 40 cm and 30 cm (30 g/m²) on the left and right sides. Evenly arranged fibers in longitudinal and transverse directions provide higher tensile and tear strength. This results in a reduced chance of damage when covering and uncovering the nonwoven fabric. 

All our Nonwoven Crop Covers are UV stabilized, designed for 120 KLY, which allows usage for 2 to 3 years depending on application and location. A water-permeable garden fleece ensures moisture exchange, providing climatic conditions for perfect plant development.

When selecting our raw materials, we are particularly focused on quality. An essential factor for us is consistent tensile and tear strength in both transverse and longitudinal directions. This ensures that our crop cover is more robust when deployed. Therefore, the frost protection fleece can be used for multiple seasons with careful handling. This not only protects the environment but also saves money. 

State-of-the-Art Ultrasonic Welding Equipment: 

GLAESERgrow uses ultrasonic devices. Since summer 2021, our early harvest fleeces are no longer glued but welded with state-of-the-art and energy-efficient ultrasonic machines. This not only spares the environment through reduced use of chemicals and energy but also provides higher seam stability, even under prolonged UV exposure. 

In addition to the aforementioned properties, the system has been upgraded with an early warning technology system, which provides a visual and/or acoustic warning signal in case of device failure or malfunction. This allows us to ensure consistent and high-quality production of our premium row cover.

We are one of the few – if not the only – who deliver 1,000 m rolls folded to 1.60 m. (Exact specifications can be found in our catalog). All our rolls that we tailor at Plant 1 in Bernstadt (near Ulm), from a width of 4.10 to 18.40 m, are folded to 1.60 or 1.70 m (from a width of 16.40 m). This saves storage space, freight costs, and working time during installation. 

How We Ensure the Quality of Our Nonwoven Crop Cover: 

Our competent and trained staff conduct quality tests several times during production. Besides stress testing the weld seam, they also check that widths and lengths are maintained. If there is any suspicion of a material or connection defect during production, the affected rolls are immediately discarded. Our raw materials are regularly tested by an independent laboratory. Retention samples of productions and tests are stored with us for up to a year after delivery to quickly respond to any complaints if necessary.
